FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION

How does the FWF verify the company's performance?

Since 2008, FWF staff has visited the headquarters of each affiliated company’s CSR programme to audit its progress in upholding its FWF obligations. During these management system audits (MSAs), FWF staff reviews company documentation and databases, interviews staff, and, where possible, tests company systems.

Using this information, FWF staff assesses the extent of meaningful improvements to internal systems and the results/achievements of these systems. Requirements and recommendations for improvement are also provided and can assist companies in shaping their compliance plans for the coming year. In 2009, FWF staff began publishing the outcomes of MSAs. The MSA report of Jack Wolfskin was first published in July 2011.

What do we want to achieve by working together with the FWF?

By working together with the Fair Wear Foundation, Jack Wolfskin wants to create more transparency – both for customers and along the supply chain. More effective partnerships based on mutual trust can help strengthen long-term cooperation with suppliers and, in turn, support step-by-step improvements in working conditions in the production countries.

Clean Clothes Campaign

Being one of eight commitee-members of the Fair Wear Foundation, in 2010 the so called "Clean Clothes Campaign" (CCC) has again conducted a survey on the working conditions and production processes of outdoor companies. Jack Wolfskin has published extracts from the survey online for interested parties to read.
