TEXAPORE HYPROOF

TEXAPORE HYPROOF O3 takes weather protection to a whole new level, offering the most powerful combination of water resistance and breathability available in our TEXAPORE weather protection technology. TEXAPORE HYPROOF O3 materials are therefore ideal for activities which demand both extreme weather protection and exceptional climate comfort.

Benefits

According to the European standard, a material is considered to be waterproof (class 3) if it can retain its water resistance when subjected to a water column of 1,300 mm. JACK WOLFSKIN jackets with TEXAPORE weather protection are generally water repellent against a water column of at least up to 4,000 mm. At 40,000 mm, TEXAPORE HYPROOF O3 boasts the highest level of water resistance of all TEXAPORE products, making it extremely impermeable (even when the fabric has been exposed to wear, tear and stretching), whilst retaining its exceptional breathability – a high-performance material like almost no other.

Technology

TEXAPORE HYPROOF O3 owes its high level of weather protection to its extremely water- proof, non-porous membrane, which is further reinforced with a mesh reverse. This is where the moisture vapour transport is carried via a physical/chemical process – on the one hand, through a drop in temperature or pressure from the exterior to the interior and, on the other hand, via hydrophilic and water-repellent elements (transport from inside to the outside and from element to element). To further increase breathability, a catalytic layer accelerates the transportation of moisture vapour molecules between the outer fabric and membrane (breathability).

In a nutshell:

  • Extremely waterproof (water column: 40,000–50,000 mm), windproof
  • Exceptionally breathable (moisture vapour transmission rate/MVTR: 25,000–30,000 g/m2/24 h)
  • Top performance even after years of use, wear and tear
  • Ideal for alpine weather protection apparel
