What form does the partnership take?
In addition to the audits already commissioned by Jack Wolfskin (inspections at the suppliers’ premises), which are conducted by a competent, independent auditing and qualification company (SUMATIONS), the FWF will send its own team to various suppliers to conduct verification audits.
These audits involve checking the items in the Code of Conduct and Code of Labour Practices which, among other things, include requirements regarding the following:
The supplier audit involves examining various documents (payroll, insurance payments, overtime worked etc.), conducting interviews with managers and workers, as well as touring the production sites.
Another important aspect of cooperation with the FWF is the development of contacts with local organisations in the production countries, which means that the complaints system introduced by Jack Wolfskin can be expanded thanks to the approach taken by the FWF and structured even more effectively for workers.
