    The COMFORT HOOD is permanently attached to the jacket. The speciality here is that the COMFORT HOOD can be rolled up into itself to form a slim-line collar with no unsightly bumps and bulges.

    The advantage over conventional roll and stow hoods is that the collar size can be reduced without doing a hood completely. One-hand operated drawcords regulate field of vision and volume and a pull-down stiffened peak makes for complete comfort.

    The chin guard stows away neatly into the flap garage at the side of the hood. The hood also features a reinforced peak for extra protection. It can also be completely adjusted with one hand, even when gloved up.

    A highly abrasion-resistant fabric made from strong polyamide fibres with a textured surface. We use it to reinforce areas subject to particular wear and tear, such as the shoulders, elbows or knees.

    There are different strengths (Denier) of material, according to the area of use. We use CORDURA 300, 400 and 500. The higher the strength, the stronger the fabric.

    A very light polyamide fabric with a high tearstrength rating. We use it for our Trekking and Hiking rucksacks. The light-weight nylon fabric is inter-woven with ripstop reinforcement threads every few millimetres.

    If the fabric tears, the rip is stopped by the stronger threads, hence the name: ripstop. This type of construction saves weight and is very robust.

    We use different strengths (Denier) of CROSS RIP, depending on what a rucksack is used for:

    - CROSS RIP 300 D: 300 Denier fabric strength, reinforcement threads every 3 mm, used predominantly for Trekking and Hiking rucksacks
    - CROSS RIP 450 D: 450 Denier fabric strength, reinforcement threads every 4 mm, used predominantly for Trekking rucksacks.
