GLOSSARY OF TERMS

An extremely robust polyethylene fabric that has been coated on both sides.

It is used for the removable FLOOR SAVER tarp on our FAMILY tents. The upward-facing surface is light-coloured to ensure bright, pleasant conditions inside the tent.

An additional underarm ventilation feature on our waterproof jackets. The Velcro-fix storm flaps can be opened and fixed in place to prevent involuntary closure.

A lightweight mixed fabric consisting of 35% cotton and 65% polyester: cotton for a soft feel; polyester for durability, minimum moisture absorption and rapid drying.

Used as lining material that is pleasant to the skin in sleeping bags.

This versatile synthetic fibre absorbs only 0.5% of its own weight in moisture and thus holds its shape well, even when wet. Also highly UV-resistant, it is durable and is easily coated or laminated. It is thus eminently suitable for use as a base material for functional jackets.

In its ‘woven’ version we use it as the basis for fleece clothing, for our WARM ‘N UP range of performance underwear, in our ARMATECH PLUS rucksack material and in many of our footwear products.

A lightweight, soft and supple fleece/jersey material made out of fine polyester yarns.

This particularly soft and fast drying fabric is often used as a lining as well as in our versatile HEADGEAR, due to its rapid drying time.

A warm polyester padding. It is produced as a thermal liner in different weights/degrees of thermal retention. The compact structure of the fibres absorb virtually no moisture and dry very quickly.

We use POLYFIBER FILL as the padding in our winter jackets and trousers, among other things. Different weights of material are used according to the different areas of use.

The weight is measured in g/m². The higher the amount, the greater the heat retention properties.
