ICELAND ... EXCEEDS ALL EXPECTATIONS

Extracts from our travel diary:

Island 2010Matthias: Our first tour follows a river that winds its way across a brown-green plain. On top of a hill the wind is so strong that we can lean right into it without falling over. Jumping up, we get carried back several metres. The perfect test for our STORMLOCK jackets. The unanimous verdict: A+.

Tobi: It’s a bumpy ride in the jeep to the next tour, the landscape has changed again, the rocks now look all crushed up. On our way up the Fannborg, we're suddenly hit by rain. Out with the TEXAPORE jackets, even though the sun is still shining. The panoramic view of the surrounding glaciers is rounded off by a perfect rainbow!

On the way back to the hut we walk along a stream through a narrow valley. At the end there is a warm spring, around which someone thoughtfully built a wall to make a small pool. The warm water bubbles up pleasantly out of the ground as we relax after a hard day's walk.
