In September, the website “der-outdoor-tester.de” tested the Jack Wolfskin Activate Vest Women. The outdoor vest was rigorously tested by the testing team whilst hiking in Tyrol and on shorter treks in Brandenburg. Not only did it create a convincing first impression thanks to its solid workmanship, but it also achieved very good marks when put to the test. The vest was tested in the following areas: feel, ease of packing and weight, and received positive feedback from the testers: “It feels good, is extremely light-weight and can be packed easily”. The editorial team found the vest to be lacking as far as the draw cord was concerned. The test showed that the draw cord had a tendency to catch on the collar and in long hair. The test generally served to confirm the first impression of the vest being robust and the vest scored points for its workmanship and wear comfort.
SUMMARY:
Conclusion of the testing team: “The vest is light-weight and is very comfortable to wear in different conditions and therefore effectively prevents loss of body heat in many situations. The Activate Vest by Jack Wolfskin takes up very little space when packed. The material is wind-resistant, water-repellent, resilient and breathable. The vest benefits from being very widely cut under the arms, which provides good ventilation. The vest provides optimum protection from loss of body heat in the neck, back and stomach areas. The fact that it is very good value for money makes the Activate Vest the “must-have” for all outdoor activities.”
Overall, the vest was awarded five out of a possible five points.
