ACS

Developed by JACK WOLFSKIN and launched in 1991 the AIR CONTROL SYSTEM provides innovative climate comfort for over 20 years. The classic in terms of carrying and climate comfort – has been optimized for 2013:  

Larger mesh surfaces + shoulder- and hip belt padding with ventilation slots + ventilated AIRPIPE contact padding = optimized ventilation and less weight.

The key feature of this hiking rucksack carry system is the constant air flow through the system (ACS = Air Control System). A frame made from fibreglass and flexible plastic components creates a permanent gap between the pack and the back, through which air can circulate freely and constantly, while warm, damp air can escape to the sides. This gap construction also reduces the contact surface. All contact surface are covered in airy mesh fabric and the padding is perforated; this also contributes to the superior climate comfort.

ACS TIGHT

The ACS TIGHT is a flexible carry system for active sports use – Perforated, articulated CROSS LINK back plate provides top notch flexibility, tight load stability and active pump effect ventilation.

ACS TIGHT ALPINE

In the ACS TIGHT ALPINE carry system (ACS = Air Control System), the focus is on a full-contact carry teamed with excellent ventilation performance. The central ventilation duct (which also reduces the contact surface), perforated padding and airy mesh covering fabrics facilitate the constant expulsion of warm, damp air from the system and away from the body. The body-hugging fit keeps the load close to the body’s centre of gravity and delivers the required freedom of movement. 

In the alpine version of the system we use a flexible sprung steel frame for better stability and load control. In this version, the padding and contact surfaces are also extremely breathable.

ACS TIGHT HIKE

The ACS TIGHT HIKE is the larger version full-contact, ventilated carry system for touring rucksacks from 30 - 50 liter volume. Main features are body-hugging fit, great freedom of movement and active ventilation.

ACS TIGHT LITE

ACS TIGHT LITE is a extremely lightweight and flexible body contact suspension system for athletic and active people.

FLEXCONTACT

The FLEXCONTACT carry system was developed specifically for JACK WOLFSKIN's alpine packs and combines superb load control with mobility.

Behind the flexible back panel is a HDPE back plate which stabilises the pack. Certain packs also incorporate a central aluminium stabilising rod.The back plate and waist belt padding can be removed to save weight and improve mobility. The waist belt can also be stowed behind the lumbar pad, which enables the rucksack to be used as a super-lightweight soft pack when a climbing harness is worn.The shoulder straps are covered in breathable AIRMESH and contact surfaces have ventilation channels for optimal carry comfort.

To deliver a bespoke fit, the FLEXCONTACT carry system is available in both men's and women's versions, with different back lengths and shoulder strap/ waist belt designs.

SNUGGLE UP

JACK WOLFSKIN's own daypack suspension system – tried and tested for 15 years. All new models from spring/summer season 2013 with optimized version: Perfect fit and even load distribution thanks to the straps’ direct connection via a wide shoulder yoke and a fully padded back for comfort and protection.

A super comfortable daypack suspension system with a special shoulder strap design: The core components of the SNUGGLE UP system are the extra wide shoulder straps, padded shoulder yoke and the comfortable and robust EV foam back-contact surfaces.

The ergonomic construction distributes load over a larger surface area than conventional shoulder strap designs. The pack always sits perfectly and pressure points on the shoulders are kept to a minimum.

SNUGGLE UP AIR

The newest model of Jack Wolfskin’s own daypack suspension systems for active use. The SNUGGLE UP AIR suspension system has two separate 3D back pads that provide a comfortable soft fit with minimal surface contact.

A super comfortable daypack suspension system with a special shoulder strap design. The core components of the SNUGGLE UP system are the extra wide shoulder straps, padded shoulder yoke and the comfortable and robust EV foam back-contact surfaces.

SNUGGLE UP PLUS

A luxuriously padded suspension system, used on several of our daypack models designed for daily, college and office use.

The SNUGGLE UP shoulder yoke encircles the shoulders and distributes the load comfortably over the back. A central ventilation duct delivers a constant supply of fresh air. Additional attributes include concealed shoulder strap tapes, a height-adjustable chest strap, a detachable waist belt and an integrated carry handle.

SNUGGLE UP WOMEN

The user-friendly daypack suspension system for women: The flat, hardly bulky SNUGGLE UP WOMEN suspension system provides a large contact area and comfortable straps – the pack rolls up easily to give a compact, portable pack size.

The shoulder straps are designed so that the adjustment straps do not flutter about.

V-TRANSITION

The V-TRANSITION carry system is specifically designed to give a comfortable carry with very heavy loads.

Two aluminium struts in a V-shape configuration are directly anchored in a synthetic plate integrated into the waist belt. The waist belt is engineered for extra stability and very firmly padded, to ensure that the load is efficiently and comfortably distributed onto the hips. The back plates provide additional stability.

Air permeable back pads ensure a high level of climate comfort. The flexible waist belt and shoulder strap attachment and the specially formed occipital cavity allow full freedom of movement even when carrying a fully loaded and very heavy rucksack. The back length is micro-adjustable; the special back length indicator helps to determine the exact fit.

X-TRANSITION

Our tried and tested X-TRANSITION carry system delivers even load distribution between the shoulders and hips. Lavishly padded contact surfaces give superior carry comfort.

Two aluminium struts in an X-shape configuration direct the bulk of the load onto the hips. The height-adjustable shoulder straps and fully adjustable back length ensure a perfect fit. In addition, the carry system is available in anatomically designed versions specific to men and women.

A further advantage: the aluminium struts, shoulder straps and waist belt are designed to deliver excellent freedom of movement, even with a fully packed rucksack on demanding terrain.
