Zonal insulation based on the “body-mapping” principle
Idstein, February 2012 – Anyone looking for lightweight insulation for low temperatures at a reasonable price need look no further than Jack Wolfskin’s insulated jackets. They are subject to the same stringent technical demands as the brand’s 3-in-1 weatherproof jackets and benefit from similar intelligent fabrics and functional detailing.
With FIBERCLOUD, Jack Wolfskin celebrates the launches of an innovative new fill material with outstanding insulation performance. The fill will be used for the first time in the brand’s insulated jackets for the 2012/2013 Winter Collection. The combination of down-like lofting performance with the moisture-resistant properties of a synthetic fibre fill guarantees optimal insulation.
The ICECAMP JACKET MEN/WOMEN (RRP in Germany: € 139.95) is one of the first ever Jack Wolfskin jacket to feature a FIBERCLOUD-fill. The jacket has an insulation performance similar to down, but is made of moisture-resistant synthetic fibre. Its main material is Jack Wolfskin’s new FIBERCLOUD HT, which is supplemented with a MICROGUARD interlining at areas of the jacket that are especially sensitive such as the shoulders. This ensures a constant and optimum insulation performance.
The ICECAMP JACKET is made of 100% moisture-resistant polyester and has two side pockets and an inner pocket.
The VICTORIA COAT WOMEN (RRP in Germany: € 169.95) is a further highlight from the women’s range. Its longer cut ensures comprehensive insulation, which is further optimised by so-called “body-mapping” to provide additional warmth at areas that are more sensitive to the cold. The shell is made of windproof STORMLOCK ACTIVE SMOOTHLIGHT, which also provides a certain degree of insulation, thus increasing the insulation performance. The POLYFIBER FILL thermal interlining inside the jacket uses polyester fibres to guarantee warm and cosy wear comfort. Its 140g/m² weight ensures superb thermal retention. The VICTORIA COAT WOMEN also has two side pockets and an inner pocket. The ULTRA LIGHT HOOD has adjustable field of vision and volume.
A particular feature used on many of Jack Wolfskin’s insulated jackets is so-called “body-mapping”. It takes into account the differing “zonal” insulation requirements at different parts of the upper body. This means that interlinings and fills are used in different weights and thicknesses at particular areas of the garment. Where greater breathability is required, a HIGHLOFT-fleece is used instead of an interlining. It has a longer pile structure that traps air for insulation, but remains lighter than conventional fleece materials.
A further highlight of the forthcoming winter season is the MINNESOTA JACKET WOMEN (RRP in Germany: € 159.95). It has a windproof STORMLOCK ACTIVE TUSSOR microfibre shell that provides a certain degree of insulation. Combined with a 100g/m² weight POLYFIBER FILL thermal interlining, the jacket is the perfect solution for cold and windy winter days. Areas particularly sensitive to the cold have an additional NANUK 150 AIRLOFT fleece lining to guarantee optimal insulation. The jacket’s comprehensive detailing includes two side pockets and an inner pocket.
