• 2 layer jackets bond the outer fabric to the membrane, with a loose inner lining. They feel softer and are ideal for everyday wear, city use and light hiking.
• 3 layer jackets laminate the outer fabric, membrane and inner material into one solid unit. This makes them significantly more durable and abrasion resistant – perfect for trekking, mountain tours and intensive use with a rucksack.

Wash regularly with a specialist detergent to remove salt and sweat residues. You can reactivate the water repellent finish (DWR) with gentle tumble drying or a PFC free reproofing treatment.
What’s the difference between waterproof and water repellent?
Waterproof jackets have a membrane and taped seams – they stay waterproof even in persistent rain. Water repellent fabrics (e.g. some softshells) only protect against light drizzle and are not suitable for sustained wet conditions.
