The Siegen Wolf Trail combines a real physical challenge with the varied natural landscape of the Siegerland. Over four days, the route stretches across roughly 75 kilometres through the forests and rolling hills of the Rothaar Mountains. After a shuttle transfer from Siegen, the hike begins near Schanze.
From there, the first stage leads through extensive upland forests to the Rhein-Weser Tower, one of the best-known viewpoints along the Rothaar ridge. The route then continues towards the historic Ginsburg. Quiet forest paths and open ridgelines with far-reaching views over the surrounding landscape define this stretch.
The following stage passes through remote woodland to the source of the Lahn, where the river begins. To finish, the route crosses the heights of the Siegerland to the Tiefenrother Höhe near Wilgersdorf. Along the way, forest tracks, gentle hills and scenic panoramic stretches alternate, making for a wonderfully varied trail profile.
With daily distances of between roughly 15 and 24 kilometres and around 1,500 metres of elevation gain in total, this trail places serious demands on your fitness. Good base endurance, as well as experience with longer days on the trail, is essential. This event isn't suitable for those without hiking experience, or without preparation for multiple consecutive daily stages.
This multi-day hike is organised by Jack Wolfskin together with local partners, and supported by selected outdoor and mobility partners. Jack Wolfskin is responsible for both the concept and delivery of the event, drawing on extensive experience in outdoor product development, community hikes and long-distance formats.
Participant numbers are limited to 50, creating an intensive, shared trail experience over the four days. This event is aimed at hikers with excellent base fitness, at those able to cover distances of 15 to 25 kilometres on multiple consecutive days, and at anyone seeking a multi-day long-distance hiking experience in the low mountain landscapes of western Germany.
