Women's Winter Jackets and Coats: Down, Synthetic and Everything Between

From packable down hoodies to long waterproof parkas, our women's winter jacket range covers the full spectrum of cold-weather needs - for active outdoor use, everyday wear and everything in between. All models are designed around a female fit, with insulation options ranging from traceable RDS-certified down to fast-drying synthetic fills, and outer materials that handle anything from light drizzle to persistent rain.

Down or Synthetic: The Primary Choice

The insulation type is the first decision to make.

Down delivers the best warmth-to-weight ratio and packs down small. Our down jackets and coats use RDS-certified fill - some with TrackMyDown traceability, so you can verify the origin and production stages of the down in your specific jacket. For the highest level of warmth and waterproof protection combined, our warmest down parkas pair high-fill-power down with a fully waterproof TEXAPORE membrane.

Synthetic insulation - TEXATHERM or PRIMALOFT® - dries faster than down and retains warmth even when damp, making it a reliable choice in persistently wet or highly variable conditions. Synthetic-filled models range from lightweight hybrid jackets for active use to long coats for everyday cold-weather wear.

Waterproof or Water-Resistant?

The outer material determines how much rain protection you get.

TEXAPORE is a fully waterproof membrane with a minimum hydrostatic head of 10,000 mm. It keeps you dry in sustained rain and is the right choice for exposed conditions, winter commuting or mountain use. TEXAPORE ECOSPHERE versions are made from 100% recycled materials without compromising on waterproof performance.

TEXASHIELD and PERTEX QUANTUM are water-resistant outer fabrics - effective in light rain and drizzle, lighter and more breathable than a full membrane, but not suited to prolonged downpours. The right choice for active outdoor use in drier or more variable conditions.

Jacket or Coat?

Shorter models offer more freedom of movement and pack down smaller - better for active outdoor use or hiking. Longer coats provide more coverage around the hips and thighs, making them more practical for everyday urban wear or commuting in cold weather. Several models come in a relaxed or oversized fit that accommodates layering over midlayers.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between TEXAPORE and TEXASHIELD?
TEXAPORE is a waterproof membrane that keeps you dry in sustained rain. TEXASHIELD is a water-resistant outer fabric that handles light rain and drizzle but is not fully waterproof. TEXAPORE suits exposed or wet conditions; TEXASHIELD is better for active use in drier weather.
2. Which is warmer - down or synthetic insulation?
Down provides more warmth per gram and packs smaller. Synthetic insulation retains warmth better when wet and dries faster. For very cold, dry conditions, down is the more efficient choice. For wet or variable weather, synthetic insulation is more reliable.
3. How do I choose between a jacket and a coat?
If freedom of movement, packability or active use matters most, choose a shorter jacket. If you need more coverage for commuting or extended time outdoors in cold weather, a longer coat is the better fit.
4. Is the down ethically sourced?
All down products use RDS-certified fill. Models with TrackMyDown support allow you to trace the origin and production stages of the down used in your specific jacket.
