Alexander Campbell

Thru-hiker, round-the-world hiker, fund-raiser for the Fred Hollows Foundation

Alexander Campbell is an Australian adventurer currently walking around the world. Since leaving Sydney in February 2023, he has covered more than 21,000 kilometres on foot across 16 countries and counting.

Through his journey, he is raising funds for the Fred Hollows Foundation, helping restore sight in many of the countries he has crossed.

Prior to his world walk, Alexander hiked the 800km Colorado Trail, the 1,600km Great Himalaya Trail across Nepal, and a 3,750km trek from the Flinders Ranges to his home in Sydney.

Off trail, Alexander studied Anthropology at the University of Sydney, where his research examined the experiences of long-distance hikers reintegrating into life after their hike.
