The Black Forest Wolf Trail combines athletic challenge with the impressive landscapes of the southern Black Forest. Over four days, the route covers around 107 kilometers and leads all the way to Lake Constance. The tour begins at Lake Schluchsee.

From there, the first stage runs through dense forests and quiet nature trails towards the Wutach Gorge, one of the most impressive canyon landscapes in the region. The trail then continues via Blumberg and Engen through the gentle hills and forest landscapes of the Hegau region.

Along this section, wide views of the region’s distinctive volcanic hills and historic towns accompany the route to Singen. The final stage continues towards Lake Constance, forming the scenic conclusion of the trail. Forests, gorges, open landscapes, and panoramic ridgelines create a varied and diverse route profile.

With an average of around 25 kilometers per day, this route is physically demanding. The distance requires solid endurance as well as experience with longer day hikes. The event is not suitable for individuals without hiking experience or without training for consecutive stages of 25–30 kilometers.

This multi-day hike is organized by Jack Wolfskin in cooperation with Schwarzwald e.V. and the partners Ford, Outdooractive, Petzl, and Clausthaler Alkoholfrei. Jack Wolfskin is responsible for the concept and execution of the event and brings extensive experience from outdoor product development, community hikes, and long-distance trail formats.

The number of participants is limited to a total of 50. Within the group, 25 places are reserved for participants who wish to complete the hike with a guide, while another 25 places are available for hikers who prefer to walk the trail independently.

The event is designed for experienced hikers with very good basic fitness, for people who are able to complete 25–30 kilometers on several consecutive days, and for anyone interested in gaining their first experience in thru-hiking within a structured and organized format.
