Wastewater checks at factories

We regularly inspect chemical output at factories.

We engage independent and accredited laboratories to perform regular spot checks on the wastewater of our suppliers. We want to know if the sustainability standards introduced, such as the bluesign® system and the ZDHC guidelines, result in the desired success and whether the wastewater treatment plant at the factories is working properly. The wastewater tests are carried out in accordance with “ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines”.

We encourage our suppliers to share the results of their wastewater tests on the global online platform “ZDHC Gateway – Wastewater Module”. Here, the verified wastewater and sludge data is available for all parties – both manufacturers and their customers such as Jack Wolfskin – to see. This offers a further opportunity to work jointly on improvements.
